can i replace the V8043E1061 with this?

Answer:
Yes - as long as you don’t have the VERY old style valve body it’s a simple exchange. Just confirm that inside the cover of your power head, there are only TWO screws on the bottom plate securing it to the valve body. If there are 4 screws, the installation is more complex and requires a conversion kit.

The 40003916-026 (call it XXX for brevity )is actually a replacement head for a 48043E. Notice that the V8043F1036 has the connection wires built into the unit and the connections made by screws, whereas the 48043E has connections made outside the unit by wire-nuts. I’ve never seen one fail less than about 10 years and then it’s almost always the end switch. Don’t know what the actual Warantee is though.

Yes - unless you have one of the very old type valves, you can just remove the old power head and replace with the new one. Requires no plumbing skills - just remove cover and remove the TWO (2) screws holding the base of the power head onto valve body.
